A visual representation of our return to nature
A few years ago, a dear friend of mine commissioned me for a piece of art. I had just started making these ‘Paint, Pen, & Feather’ pieces and she wanted one. Buuuut she’s a very unique human sooo I wasn’t feelin my usual, simple feather piece. She had a photo of herself in this profile view with feathers in her hair. it said something about a rooster and I just remember thinking, “this rooster isn’t her… she’s more cunning, she’s sneaky, she’s unpredictable”.
So When I sat down to plan out her piece, rather than the plain simple feather pieces I was making at the time, she inspired me to just go wild with it. She didn’t ask me to, she’s just a lil wild and it rubbed off on me 😏 and this is the result.
She did ask for it to say “dreamers can never be tamed”. This piece displays some various flicker feathers I had found on hikes and hunts in Kansas.
