Death Star

This is the fifth piece I created in my ‘Paint, Pen, & Feathers’ series.

In September of 2018 the non-profit yoga studio I founded moved into it’s permanent space. I created this piece for a raffle at the Barefoot Open House Party Grand Opening. The women who won it gave it to her son who was a big Star Wars fan.

Sometimes the inspiration for my pieces is just for the plain fun of it and other times they are inspired by an impactful vision in a meditation. I love the original trio of Star Wars movies so much—this piece was just for the fun of it 🙂

In the pen completing the circle of the Death Star are the words “per aspera ad astra” — the Kansas state motto meaning “to the stars through difficulties”.
