This is the first piece from my ‘Paint, Pen, & Feathers’ series.

The feathers in the two larger canvases were found while hiking or hunting. The feathers in the smallest canvas are harvested from a pheasant. Every single feather alone contains so much mesmerizing beauty from the colors and patterns to the shape. What you can’t see that is so fascinating is the lil individual pieces of feather that make the whole have barbs to hook themselves to the neighboring pieces. SO neat!

I’m basically a nerd about feathers so I made displays for them then realized there are infinite possibilities for displaying feathers and decided to keep going.

This set is unique because it’s the only one I paid special attention to the canvas edges instead of adding a frame. On the edges of these canvases I wrote quotes that I like to be reminded of often. “Aim small, miss small.” “Fear, uncertainty, and discomfort are your compasses towards growth.” and “Stop managing your time. Start managing your focus.”

I love how these look on brick!
